Something neat that Game Arts did (Grandia, Lunar) is update NPC interactions for every single major plot event. In Lunar SSSC, you can go back to towns you don't even NEED to revisit and every single NPC convo is updated to match the current state of the plot. Really impressive for a 90s JRPG

It's the same 6 speed they've used since the early 00s, I think slightly modified from the R32. Clutch is fine if a bit grabby. Throws are long and mushy. A short shifter dramatically improves it but still not as good as one from, say, Honda.

It's definitely more maintenance than a manual, every 40k I think. I got mine used and so did it shortly after buying it in my garage. There are a lot of ways to do it without the official VW tools and it can take some experimenting to see what works for you, but it's not so bad.
