No one says Boomers didn't have some advantages or make some mistakes. We're leaving this world a lot better in some ways, and worse in others. So did every generation that came before, and so will every generation alive today, and every generation that will follow.

If you have clean air to breathe or water to drink, you can thank a Boomer. If you can vote at 18 — or at all — thank a Boomer. If you can hold hands in public with someone of the same sex or a different race, thank a Boomer. If you never worried about the draft, thank a Boomer.

I'm so tired of reading how easy Boomers had it, from people who never had to burn a bra or a draft card. Who never had friends or loved ones die of AIDS, or in a war they didn't believe in. Who never had to fight for the right to vote, or love who they wanted.

The President has launched our nation and our great military into a war of choice, risking American lives and resources, ignoring American law, and endangering our allies and partners. It does nothing to help with the urgent problems here at home that Americans face every day.
