Wonderful day yesterday doing a recce on Drakes Island off the coast of Plymouth, to see how easy it would be for a Bioblitz exercise for our students. Fabulous cormorant nesting site and lots of lovely inverts busy on the plants.

Some photos of the cool beasts we saw on the 1st year BSc Zoology field trip to Zahara de Los Atunes in Spain. Beautiful place and the trip was great, but the power cut was quite a wake up call.

I really hate @amazontv.bsky.social now. The ads at coming every few minutes, 5 times in a 20 min programme! It feels like they are trying to force you to pay by making the viewing experience awful. When I’ve watched the last of the series I started I will never use it again.

She discusses the fact you could mix up the yellow-throated longclaw and Easter meadowlark. Unless you pay attention to the importance of knowing what species to expect in your habitat. Awesome! What I tell all my students. #2

This is what some university leaders think of all these careers, lives and hopes getting trashed: all this means it's 'time to reflect' and use more AI. Oh yeah, I'll reflect all right. πŸ€―πŸ™„ (2/2)

Is This Working? Charlie Colenutt
β€œmountains of paperwork are being generated by organisations’ fears of failure….As a consequence, workers are doing less of their actual work, instead spending their time inputting data, writing reports and ticking boxes. Morale is sapped and staff turnover rises”

I really hated it! Poor characterization and the plot is so much worse than the novel. I loved the subtlety of the book characters, these are all just awful and yet boring! Seems to be a show that’s all about look at the scenery but never mind the rest
