The cast of Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 film version of “Much Ado About Nothing”, including Denzel Washington, Keanu Reeves, and Kenneth Branagh himself as Benedick
There’s never been a more gorgeously-produced film version of “Much Ado About Nothing” than Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 film! (Gorgeous costumes, great cast overall & a beautifully scenic Tuscany setting!😍) #Classicfilm #MuchDoAboutNothing #Shakespeare

Yes!👏 I loved watching it as a kid — not only did they go to exotic locations with the ship, but even as a kid I appreciated that they cast so many older Hollywood stars & legends from the golden era who weren’t get cast in movies anymore, so that was nice work for them!☺️👏 #TheLoveBoat

That’s true!👍 I always get so teary-eyed during that moment, too!😭 Although at least Winston died happy with a smile on his face, since as you said, he finally got his long-awaited “going out in a blaze of glory”. (”Here I come, laddies..!!”😂)

Yes, I love that film, too, and it’s definitely a fun nostalgic adventure film!☺️👍 (great cast, too! I especially loved Bernard Fox as “Captain Winston Havelock!😄👏 I wish they’d given him even more scenes! But it was still a great part for him, considering it was one of his last film roles!)

Just found out “The Wild, Wild West” is on one of the retro-tv channels! I know it’s goofy & Robert Conrad was a macho ass, but I loved their fun guest-villains (especially Victor Buono as Count Manzeppi & Michael Dunn as Dr. Loveless!👍) & this was my intro to steampunk as a kid! #Classictelevision

Even tho I liked them all, I love the second one best since there were so many bits of humour, like Lady Violet & Carson’s reactions to the film-crew coming to Downtown Abbey (as to be expected from those two!😄), Mosley getting his big break, Robert’s panicked worry that he might be half-French..!😂

Yes, I loved it, too!☺️👍❤️I especially liked Robert’s befuddled reaction when Mary was showing him the London flat she wanted to rent for their family as they were “downsizing” expenses— “It’s like a layer-cake of people!”😂) Glad everyone got a happy ending, especially Barrow after all this time!☺️

Yes!👍I was also a Gen-X Latch-Key kid who grew up on all those great shows, especially Star Trek, Columbo, Carol Burnett, Bob Newhart, M.T.M., Odd Couple, Hill Street Blues, etc.! I feel like watching/studying those classics made me a better writer myself! (STILL trying to break in myself, tho!😄🙏)

Yeah, I can’t even watch the Columbo episode he did anymore because his character is so genuinely unlikable that I feel like he’s basically just playing himsel!🤭(then again I’ve also been reading some making-of Columbo books that revealed Falk as being not QUITE so nice as the good Lt. Columbo is!🤭)

I was so shocked to wake up to this news!😢💔 Catherine O’Hara was always one of my fave funny women since way back — I’ve loved her ever since SCTV & was just rewatching her in the brilliant Christopher Guest mockumentaries “Best in Show” & “Waiting for Guffman” over the holidays!😭💔 #Catherineohara

Yes!😂❤️🤌 I’m ALWAYS quoting that line, too!😂👏 Every line & scene with Corky just makes me laugh!😄 (his cheerfully-deranged expressions, his bizarre “dance” moves…😂🤌)

Agreed! I discovered SCTV in its early days before any of its brilliant cast hit it big & I was always blown away by how brilliantly-funny they all were! (I always liked it better than SNL, too!👍) I was devastated when I heard that John Candy & Joe Flaherty passed & now Catherine O’Hara, too!😭💔

I was devastated when I heard that John Candy & Joe Flaherty passed & now Catherine O’Hara, too!😭💔(her ”Lola Heatherton” on SCTV was 🤌❤️😄!)

Same, I was also a fan of hers (& the equally late great John Candy, Joe Flaherty & the rest!) ever since the early days of SCTV, too!🙏💔I felt like me & my little group of fellow nerd friends were the only ones who knew about that hidden gem back in the day!😄❤️I loved her in Chris Guest’s films, too!

So glad Jessie Buckley got an Oscar nomination for her role in “Hamnet” — I’ve been saying since I saw the film that she definitely deserved a nomination & she also definitely should win for her performance!👏🎭 (& glad to hear the film got nominated for Best Picture, too; it deserves that as well!👏)
