The views on the way home was even better! Mainly because this time I knew which side of the bus to sit for the views!

Ended my journey at Kendal Sainsbury’s as needed some supplies!

I’ll defo do this route again! I actually think from Kendal it’s quickest way to County Durham!

Randomly the route seems to start in the Morrisons car park… this is a proper shopper bus!!!

A nice few hours has been had in Barnard Castle. Had a bit of a walk, looked about the shops & market and met up with a friend for a natter and bite to eat.

A nice town with a busy market! Will happily visit again!

What a lovely journey that was from Kendal to Barnard Castle using the 572!

Passenger usage was brilliant too:

Total of 34 passengers. Everyone who boarded went all the way Barnard Castle!

It is definitely a local bus for local people. The journey back will be an indication of its use.

I’ve got a free Wednesday, which is rare these days! So I’m making use of it and going for a trip out on a random once a week bus!

Lonsdale Buses run the 572 runs on Wednesdays only from Kendal to Barnard Castle! Genuinely intrigued to see how well used this bus is!

Just spent the last half hour looking through my hundreds upon hundreds of photos I took on this trip.

After laughing at these photos I can honestly say that one of the main memories of this trip will be quality time spent with some great mates!

Just like that I’m back in Ulverston!

From Ryde to Lysvik and Narvik to Helsinki and everywhere in between, it’s been an amazing trip!

Was expecting an old 156 on this one as it’s a Lancaster starter! A nice surprise to see a 195 on this service instead.

A northern train at leeds opened its doors nearly 15 minutes before departure! I’m speechless! Impressed, but speechless!

Arrived into London Stansted Airport late last night… got food at only place open and then just crashed on the very comfy premier inn bed!

Going to catch up on some work emails this morning before I head back north this afternoon!

FYI: I hate flying!

After -19 yesterday anything Britain could give weather wise would feel tropical to me 😂

This afternoon spent a few hours looking around Helsinki.

Fun fact: The metro network in Helsinki is the most northern metro network in the world!

Would be ace to do that!

We changed trains at Karis before continuing on to Ekenäs and then walked back to Dragsvik.

No real plan today, so we’ve last minute decided to head out and explore a little bit more of Finland.

What a lovely journey that was from Tornio! Slept really well (beers probably helped). Only negative is shower was pretty poor. Coming to the realisation that showers on trains are just poor in general 🤷‍♂️

Possibly the most random station to board a sleeper train at possible… the middle of a trading estate!

On this sleeper train now for 12 hours all the way to Helsinki. First impressions are very good!
