(writes fanfiction about my wife's ocs while she's asleep) i feel like sarantuya also hates it but i feel like she errs on the side of jouliene is a woman and tuya isn't going to let the boys talk down to her. and adair knew jouliene when they were younger, so i feel like he's more sensitive to it.

i KNOW adair has to learn not to run his mouth SPECIFICALLY because jouliene really really is a spoiled rich kid at the end of the day. i think everyone in the light party gets very irritated very quickly with that trait of hers, but i think between adair & tuya, adair dislikes it more.

the issue isn't even so much the hypocrisy itself or the lack of clear logic, the issue is ultimately the fact that c'stajha can't explain herself. because the logic is illogical and hypocritical. so SHE gets frustrated with being questioned. all of her partners and her friends run into this.

c'stajha is a hypocrite who cannot explain most of her logic when it comes to "strategy" situations. "we can't let the enemy survivors escape ..... but don't imprison them." i think lyse is the one whose nerves really get rubbed with this, esp because it's most prevalent during stormblood's msq.

asmodeus' saving grace is that adonis also gives me second hand embarrassment ("i can fix him" but it's more like "i need to contain him so no one else has to deal with him")

bourrache's worst crime as my OC is being boring (i made him like that but making him not boring would make him like comically evil and that's worse), asmodeus' worst crime as my OC is giving me constant second hand embarrassment. i think we need to let the dog (kerbie) eat him.

ULTIMATELY !!! bourrache is a rich freak in the pillars. disgusting. and to him adonis is either his project (has no control) or his runaway (has too much control). however, asmodeus is just an obsessive voidsent, in the sense that he deifies adonis, but he sees himself as a god too.

okay the issue is that bourrache is far less interesting of a person than either of these characters. asmodeus really is both of them at once, and the crux is that he sees adonis as his equal / wants adonis to see him as HER equal. bourrache will always see an imbalance one way or another.

"bourrache didn't save you, asmodeus did!!" like it'd just put her into psychosis i think, in this hypothetical vampire interview scenario. (sorry that this is contrived, i am avoiding the term searchers by not calling the show by its literal name)

ultimately the core dynamic between bourrache and adonis is that bourrache betrays her and thinks he's right to have done so. but asmodeus could never betray adonis because he always makes his intentions very clear. adonis always knows what she's getting from him.

asmodeus would throw up if adonis ever expressed any amount of pity or sympathy for him, but it is what he craves. because if adonis ever gave him that, it would mean that they fiiiinally love him like a real person. but adonis doesn't, because fuck that guy HAHAHAHA ASMODEUS PLEASE DIE

adonis doesn't feel bad for bourrache but like yeah sure dude im sure these things you've gone through did suck, yeah yeah you're still a person. whatever. begrudgingly allowing empathy for the rich man. WHATEVER.

but asmodeus insists on having no pity given to himself.

i don't think adonis ever has a moment where they feel bad for bourrache. but there's like a melancholy that surrounds him right, an aura he ignores himself but others can see it. when he talks about ohh my daddy's dead and my life is so empty. dude shut up you're so annoying.

i think the core difference between asmodeus & bourrache, in the context of how they've mistreated adonis, is that bourrache does think he's a man who has suffered and deserves pity even if he doesn't want it. but asmodeus would never pity himself, never suggest a tragic backstory.
