every strip mall is frenetic and teeming with festivities. grocery stores are lined with pine and poinsettias. credit card debt is at an all time high. ugly sweaters bought at record speeds. white elephant gifts from last year are being regifted this year into secret santa gifts.

i can’t believe i got covid a week before christmas and had to cancel all plans and missed a full week of work too. this is only the 2nd time ive ever gotten it. truly remarkable

i’m the only one who gets sick bc of a moral failing/karmic retribution NO ONE ELSE just me because of something i did to deserve this specifically

tested positive for covid at the worst (or best?) time possible. cancelled 4 plans already. 4!!

my dog is 14 and has pancreatitis and likely also has diabetes and it’s a full time job to care for him and it’s completely worth it bc i would lay down my life for otis
