Will Jeremy Corbyn finally come of the fence and fully back proportional representation?
If not, will he publicly acknowledge that the very existence of his new party is likely to serve the interests of Reform UK?

This govt certainly inherited a dire economic situation from the Tories, but they seem determined to make it worse.
The Chancellor claims she has no choice. Cutting support for the poorest rather than doing a deal with the EU to boost growth is a choice.

Cutting care for those who need daily support isnβt just wrongβit wonβt help them into jobs. If the government is serious about welfare reform, it must fix H&SC!

There is some truth in that. But Donald Trump is no Metternich, Bismarck or even Disraeli. None of them would have been so dismissive of the need for allies, nor would they have undertaken actions that would damage their own nations' international reputation and economic strength.
04.03.2025 08:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Jeremy Bowen, on BBC Breakfast, has stated that Donald Trump "is returning to the diplomacy tactics of the 19th century... when the big nations forced their will onto the lesser players."

Making political predictions has become tough in recent years.
Who would have imaged a US president emulating Nebuchadnezzar?
Reporter: Migrants who were in Guantanamo Bay say they were shackled and placed in cages and say they were not treated as human beings. Any response to those conditions?
Leavitt: Itβs a promise the President campaigned on
It's also interesting that, in Poland, areas which were part of German before WW1 are far more likely to vote Civil Platform, while people in the former Russian-occupied areas (large cities excepted) are more likely to vote United Right.
Not an entirely dissimilar picture.
Curious to hear Donald Trump claiming "fake news" is "the unforgiveable sin".
He's right though. He won't be forgiven for it.
The map on the left shows the results by constituency for the German federal elections (CDU - black; SPD - red; AfD - blue)
Anyone want to put forward any theories as to why AfD's support is so heavily concentrated in the former GDR while they failed to win a single constituency in the former GFR?
Dmitry Grozoubinski standing in front of a burned out Russian APC in Kyiv.
Hard to describe what it's like being in Kyiv, surrounded by brilliant, unshakeable, brave Ukranians, and reading Trump's comments.
The free world deserves a better leader, the hill deserves a better city upon it, and these people deserve better friends.
Almost every major British political party has bent the knee to Donald Trump.
The Liberal Democrats are happy to stay standing.
I never thought I'd see the day when the President of the USA became an apologist for Russia.

Any "peace deal" that makes the world a more dangerous and less secure place is not worthy of the description.
There is a huge difference between an unjust ceasefire and peace.
If your argument is "sure, a terrible modern event has a parallel in the 1920s and 30s but don't worry we turned out just fine", might I suggest reading about the 1940s.

Lovely humans,
I'm training to run a half-marathon for @scotrefugeecouncil.bsky.social in May!
I only started running last year so this is a big challenge for me - but I know the challenge for refugees to rebuild their lives is even greater.
All donations/shares would be HUGELY appreciated!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
