This was an article from the Economist on ‘The Pandemics true death toll’ they wrote this article about the massive undercount. Official figure is 7 million but their estimate is vastly in excess and is more likely to be in the region of above 27.4 million and possibly much higher again.

They were never transparent on the true death toll. Around 7 million sounds milder than over 28 million 🫠 Thanks to the Economist for your journalistic integrity. 🙏

The Covid-careless expect ppl who live w/ serious health challenges, in part bc of THEM, to show up perfectly to discuss it.
And yet they don’t show up at all other than to punch down on the ppl they passed infections to.

People do die of Long Covid. People also kill themselves because symptoms are unbearable, which is true across chronic illnesses.

I don't have Long Covid, but I do have other things. My lung issues are mostly in control (something that could put my life at risk when out of control). But, I still feel like crap every day.

There's been discourse on Long Covid on this site the past few days. I think some people are thoroughly underestimating how hellish chronic illness can make you feel, even if you aren't at an immediate risk of dying.
