I've decided to stop using AI for my game engine, makes me feel like a fraud, it's a passion project! It feels like cheating, and I enjoy programming, why delegate the fun? There is drudge work, but it starts the same; let's use it the boring parts, but then my brain turns off making mentally lazy

I've been ejoyin @godotengine.org a lot sofar, sprites are still confusing, but I'm missing structs a lot, and no, dictionaries don't solve that, I might try C# just for that

I've noticed that since I switched from mac/windows back to linux I've felt more often inspired to tackle programming side projects

having a system environment that I can truly personalize gets my creatives juices flowing and pushes me forward to write more code outside of work

Any criticism of capitalism always comes with apologists or deflections to communism. But to fix something, we first have to accept that it’s broken.

I like Speechify a lot, but their reading of math equations is either bad or they skip it completely. They might be able to include some OCR functionality around this, run a TTS model locally, and expand that functionality 🤔 TTS models are tricky to set up pain-free - I haven't figured it out yet.

Project idea: Personal library software for managing my PDF book collection. Features: organizing, full-text search, bookmark tracking, and reading progress. Considering whether it should be online - could be useful for centralized storage, but offline desktop first might be simpler. 📚
