Due to this, a dev may focus on flair over substance bc it feels like they are making more progress.

It can also cause devs to underestimate how much lifting the feel of their software does, causing them to leave it to the last min.

It is a hard trap to avoid and harder to balance.

Compare that to this one and it feels like more was done even though the changes were all visual and only a small fraction of the overall work.

A bit of a rant here but a really annoying thing with not just games but software dev in general is how important and unimportant the presentation layer is.

For example, PR was largely complete in this gif, but still feels a long ways off since the visuals where still grey boxed.
