Looks like we’re all set up for another spectacular, bewildering, dizzying Ashes! 🏏

Ps. We’re still waiting for Foden’s 99 passing one unfortunately

You’ll be delighted to hear that his performance has been recognised in FIFA 26 with a special card in the Ultimate Team mode. Frankly astonished it’s not 99 stats all round!πŸ˜‚

Great 2nd half, deserved to win. Let momentum go by not making changes and dropping deep late on. Uncharacteristically poor defending from balls into the box. Also a bit fed up of ref and commentator North East fever

Sunderland a tough team, others will drop points there. Let’s refresh πŸ’ͺ🏻 #COYG πŸ”΄βšͺ️

I have never before seen a referee wave on a stealth attack from an injured player πŸ˜‚. Astonishing refereeing display thus far, hope that’s the final trick!

Rare for me to say this nowadays but I feel like Arsenal are playing quite stupidly. We are exhibiting very little technical quality, playing at a snail’s pace and allowing it to become a bitty game of bouncing balls. When we have it, move it and keep it on the bloody ground.

I see It Means More Set Pieces FC are being supremely classy. So pure in their play and pitch perfect booing of a club legend πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Honestly can’t imagine what Trent must think, he’s more Liverpool than 99% of these β€˜fans’ will ever be.

As routine a win as you’ll see against tricky opposition. Arsenal were better front to back, start to finish. City and Newcastle games feel pivotal now. Momentum πŸš— πŸ’¨

Left a couple of goals out there but, whilst not booking a bus, hope goal difference isn’t going to matter this seasonβ€¦πŸ˜¬ #COYG πŸ’ͺ🏻 πŸ”΄βšͺ️

Excellent half, Arsenal were consummately dominant throughout with touches of flair and excellence. The rest midweek seems to have done Gyokeres a world of good, and the early goal has given him an extra spring in his step

Only quibble is I’d like a bit less nonchalance from Trossard! #COYG πŸ’ͺ🏻 πŸ”΄βšͺ️

Goodly Morning gents, the PL table is a fine sight to behold this morning! Playing devil’s advocate for our start to the season; when does β€˜winning ugly’ actually become our stock way of playing and does it concern you for if/when our set piece goals dry up? #arsecastextra @gunnerblog.bsky.social

Phenomenal night at the Emirates, 4-0 flattered Arsenal a little but this was a statement victory in Europe this season. AtlΓ©tico were industrious and, at times, dangerous but once the dam burst we were excellent

Perfect night, Gyok x2 made him a different player. Martinelli goal πŸ”₯ Gabriel πŸ‘‘ #COYG

21.10.2025 21:30 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Stodgy half, Arsenal look like we haven’t played for a while. Can tell Gyok is short on confidence, had time to take a touch and cut in before shooting with that chance

Also think injury stoppages need to mandate longer off the pitch, maybe 2 minutes.Tactical or not it ruins the flow of games #COYG

Thanks for answering my question @gunnerblog.bsky.social and @arseblog.com!

Excellent discussion of atmosphere vs expectation. For me, I think fans are sometimes waiting to be dazzled in these games. However, I will attempt to get the Clock End to flap their ears in the wind more going forward πŸ˜‚

Goodly afternoon gents, I was struck by a sense of frustration and, dare I say, boredom amongst the fanbase in the Clock End

Do you think this is justified based on previous scars from dropped points or was it just a routine win with no need to kick on at 1-0? @gunnerblog.bsky.social #arsecastextra

06.10.2025 12:40 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Interesting undercurrent of frustration and, dare I say, boredom in the Arsenal crowd today. A routine win, 3 points β˜‘οΈ, but feels like the fan base are waiting to be dazzled.

Are we scarred from dropped points last season or is it a reasonable expectation that we kill these games early? #COYG πŸ”΄βšͺ️

I said after City that Arsenal and Arteta need an β€˜I am him/we are them’ moment

Really hope today instils in the team and the manager that they’re there, it’s their time, they can go anywhere and play anyone off the park, win in adversity. So much pace and desire in attack especially 1st half πŸ”₯

I take it all back, there’s a lot of point worrying about the result πŸ˜‚

What a fucking win, absolutely love it. By far the better side, deserved it on every level.

We’re back baby, we’re so back.

COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!! πŸ”΄βšͺ️

Despite the inevitable frustrating loss that’s going to unfurl in the 2nd half with theatrics, time wasting, fouls not given etc. I’m pleased with how we’ve played

No point worrying about the result if you’re not given stonewall penalties. 5 points to catch up, if we get something a nice surprise!

28.09.2025 16:31 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Ah, it’s classic St. James Park refereeing then is it?

If he hadn’t blown the whistle we’d also probably have scored anyway. Total disgrace as usual from PGMOL and VAR. It’s like they have a meeting beforehand to plan how to get Newcastle and the fans up for it.

28.09.2025 15:52 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The Trossard Inevitability Cycle ℒ️ continues. Let’s hope today he can break it by playing well as a starter πŸ˜‚. Pleased to see Eze and Saka, let’s see some πŸ”₯ today. Newcastle have become something of a nuisance in the last few years. We should put that to bed today #COYG πŸ’ͺ🏻 πŸ”΄βšͺ️

Routine win with heavy rotation. Lot of frustration here tonight but it’s a long season and Carabao is not a priority

Nice Eze goal, Dowman wakes people up; spectators and players, with moments to make you go β€˜ooh hello πŸ‘€β€™. Also wish Leo would accept super sub status, he’s phenomenal at it! #COYG πŸ’ͺ🏻

24.09.2025 21:00 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Really hope we kill the game early 2nd half and get Dowman on. Also, I love Merino as a person and for his endeavour last season but he’s really not a striker πŸ˜‚ . Would like to see Eze go left, Martinelli central and Merino into midfield.

That said all pretty straightforward so far πŸ’ͺ🏻 #COYG πŸ”΄βšͺ️

24.09.2025 19:53 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I’d counter I’m raising it so that the game isn’t killed. The referee tolerating it allows this to perpetuate by not punishing it. The far more effective action if worried about time wasting, play acting etc. would have been to say β€˜yeah, you’re simulating, it’s cynical, yellow card and you’re off.’

22.09.2025 09:35 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I think you’re misunderstanding my focus - see my post after the game; don’t think we played well enough, too cautious etc. I just noticed this morning when I saw this incident again that it’s clearly simulation by Silva and that is a yellow card, and he was already on a yellow. Just factual

22.09.2025 09:25 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Trossard wasn’t on a booking already I don’t think? For me clearly not meeting the threshold for β€˜violent conduct’ straight red. My point is Silva should have received a second yellow

As an aside from yesterday - Bernardo Silva should have been sent off for simulation when Trossard tossed the ball at him. Already on a booking when he did it, very clear line of sight for the referee that it hit his hand and he fell down holding his face.

Standard PGMOL shambles

Evening gents, think fan reaction is generally negative after the game. In the ground it was flat, tetchy and frustration audible. Does Arteta need to believe in himself/his team more? The limit of our ambitions seems to be; grind it out against big opposition #arsecastextra @gunnerblog.bsky.social

21.09.2025 18:53 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Think Arteta/Arsenal need to have an β€˜I am him/we are them,’ moment soon. Pre-game was concerned by the lineup and it played out as predicted; passive, slow football against a former giant with vulnerability. Too much respect

Delighted with the draw. Eze & Martinelli world class moments #believe πŸ”΄βšͺ️

If we could simply have the same as last season Arsenal that’d be great!

I don’t want us to be reckless but would really like to see some β€˜handbrake off’ football today. I’d like a creative, running, intricate 8 in the form of Eze, Nwaneri or Odegaard but whatever the team #COYG #humbledagain🀞πŸ’ͺ🏻 πŸ”΄βšͺ️
