Didnβt realise itβs the same guy who wants to close the Prince Charles Cinema and has made Picturehouse Centralβs social spaces unusable, who is the twat who allows fold-and-restart wizard-tat-and-candy shops to fill vacant units and not pay tax.
Actively damaging quality of life should be a crime.

The article isnβt arguing for more funding (which isnβt happening), itβs arguing public good/private bad conjecture. If they were serious, they would be talking to specialists in ADHD, but theyβre not.

But I guess itβs easier to talk to a couple of general practitioners you know (who I can almost guarantee didnβt even touch ADHD at med school) and ignore all of the current research on the topic from people who actually know what theyβre talking about.

ADHD meds do slightly increase the risk of heart attacks, which is why NICE guidelines (which private clinics have to follow) mean you have to do clinical observations on a regular basis. You know what increases the risk of heart attacks more? Leaving ADHD untreated.

You could have mentioned how fewer than half of people with ADHD are actually diagnosed and spoken about how difficult it is to get an adult or child diagnosis. Why are there so few specialists? The research on methylphenidate is strong - why these baseless scare stories about it?

You could have mentioned how people with ADHD have shorter life expectancies and are more prone to dementia, and newer research which shows treatment from a younger age develops more healthy neural pathways and prevents common comorbid conditions, but this would raise uncomfortable questions.

This is just manufacturing consent for taking away treatment for ADHD, which is already underdiagnosed. You could have highlighted how GPs are refusing shared care agreements, even for people diagnosed under the NHS, and how the govt is trying to limit the number who can be treated under each LA.

Lib Dems: Magikarp. Used to be more powerful, very weak now, EXCEPT on rare occasion you put huge effort in, then becomes TERRIFYING

The British left must embrace the middle class: a welfare state narrowly focussed on the poor will have a narrow support base, and thus will end up being politically fragile and worse-quality for the poor too. Plus, you can't build fiscal space for higher spending by taxing the ultra-rich alone...
