Two hours ago, two Shahed drones flew through Belarus into Volyn before heading toward Poland, according to monitors. In response, Poland scrambled six F-16s. Even more F-16s are now reportedly patrolling the airspace near Ukraine across Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.

British company MGI Engineering, founded by a former F1 engineer, will send SkyShark kamikaze drones to Ukraine in the coming weeks. With a 250 km range and 450 km/h top speed, each drone costs $67,000. A heavier strike UAV, TigerShark, is also in development as a cheaper alternative.

🇷🇴🇺🇦 Ukraine and Romania will launch joint production of defense drones, Reuters reports citing Romania’s FM. The goal is to quickly set up production on Romanian soil for domestic use and for EU and NATO allies. Talks on the project began even before recent drone incursions into European airspace.

Vladimir Leontiev, head of the occupation “council of deputies” in Nova Kakhovka, was wounded today in a drone strike. He is in serious condition in hospital. Leontiev is one of the highest-ranking collaborators working for Russia’s administration in occupied Kherson region.

Overnight Russia launched 49 drones (Shahed, Gerbera and others), an Oniks missile from Crimea and four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Oryol region. Ukrainian air defense, EW and mobile fire groups shot down or suppressed 44 drones. Five missiles and drones hit six locations.

Russia struck Kharkiv’s Barabashovo market again.. at least 100 trade pavilions were destroyed by fire and another 100 damaged.

It appears the “Sukhodolnaya” pumping station and another oil pipeline nearby were struck, with both fires breaking out almost simultaneously. The station is part of the main Kuybyshev–Lysychansk pipeline with a nominal capacity of 7,000 cubic meters per hour. FIRMS data shows fires.

Overnight, Ukrainian drones hit the Yaroslavl oil refinery. Local officials tried to call it an “emergency drill,” but reports suggest the fire is at the VT-6 vacuum distillation unit, with an annual capacity of over 6.2 million tons after modernization.

A Turkish truck driver was killed during a Russian strike on Kyiv. He had been delivering generators to Ukraine and stayed inside his vehicle instead of going to shelter. He leaves behind three children.

Zelensky in his evening speech warned of a critical situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP: for the seventh day it has been cut off from the grid due to Russian shelling and is running only on diesel generators. One generator has already failed. Russia blocks repairs, creating a threat to everyone.

The number of injured in Dnipro has risen to 28, regional officials report. Among them are a 10-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. Twelve people have been hospitalized.

🇩🇪 In Germany unknown individuals fired pyrotechnics at a Bundeswehr C-130 transport aircraft shortly after takeoff from Celle airbase, Lower Saxony, Der Spiegel reports. The plane was not damaged and pilots alerted the tower immediately. Both the Bundeswehr and police launched an investigation.

Hungarian PM Orban said Hungary is “not afraid” of Russian drones and would shoot them down if they entered its airspace. He also downplayed wider concerns about drone violations in Europe, insisting Russia is “weak militarily, economically and numerically” compared to the EU.

After Dnipro, Russia is now also attacking Kharkiv with drones. Moment of arrival of one of the drones was caught on video. Another deliberate attempt to terrorize civilians, simply to demoralise them.

Operators of Ukraine’s 412th Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Regiment destroyed four North Korean “Koksan” 170mm self-propelled guns in Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia. One strike was carried out jointly with other defense units. These long-range artillery systems were supplied to Russia by North Korea.

Hungarian PM Orban lashed out at Poland’s Donald Tusk after he said “the war in Ukraine is our war.” Orban wrote that Hungary and the EU are not at war with Russia and accused Tusk of “playing a dangerous game with the lives and security of millions of Europeans.”
