This morning, I hosted something different: a hands-on simulation showing how DC could become the first place in America to let residents decide which local news outlets get grant funding.

Hundreds of residents stood outside in the cold starting as early as 6 AM yesterday, all in the hope of keeping a roof over their heads.

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) isn’t failing — we are failing ERAP by chronically underfunding it.

This is unacceptable. As DC struggles to find money in our budget to keep our affordable housing commitments, DHCD gave back federal tax credits that could have created $35M in funding to house thousands of residents.

What do you think the optimal situation is? My guess is that we want them to stick with this core for at least another 1 to 2 years. If they are still trying in the 2027-8 season that would be great. If it fails and they start rebuilding a year before that, maybe even better.

Is there a real Drum resurgence or is it a mirage?

Based only on the small sample to date, what's your best guess about how VJ's career will develop? What is the highest upside you could see? How about the average outcome?

Of course it can't possibly, but if everything went absolutely perfectly health-wise, vets got back to form, and young players continued to improve, would you make some trades to switch away from a 3-max setup? What would that look like?

I am curious to hear what the alleged political motivations of the FBI raid were. In his version, why did they target him? Simpler explanation: he engaged in broad ethical misconduct, it was wise for the public integrity unit to investigate, and they may have charged him had he stayed in office.

When he was running for Mayor in 2014, he was meeting with an endorsement committee I was on so I asked him how his views had changed as a result of economists finding that trickle-down economics doesn't actually work. His answer: "My view hasn't changed at all".

For too long, out-of-state drivers have been able to rack up thousands of dollars in traffic violations without facing consequences for putting our residents in danger.

Thanks to the STEER Act and under @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social's leadership, we are now holding these drivers accountable.

Make sure to send a letter explaining why! The letter is more important than the cancellation.
