Today's vote threatens to cause chaos, blowing a $600 million hole in DC's budget.

🌹 @janeese4dc.bsky.social has won the support of Metro DC DSA. DSA's Stop Out Slumlords campaign is among the largest (if not the biggest) pro-tenant organizing group in the city.

With Working Families Party's endorsement, @janeese4dc.bsky.social now leads the endorsement race with 8 endorsements. None of her opponents have any.

I just responded to a scene in my DC neighborhood. This would usually have been 3-5 MPD (local cops), but tonight there were:
11 MPD
3 FBI
3 ATF

The federal presence in DC has led to enormous over-response at every traffic stop and previously routine arrest. It increases danger for every one of us.

Her endorsements so far include: ATU 689, JUFJ Campaign Fund, SEIU 32BJ, UFCW 400, UNITE HERE 23 and 25, and Washington Teachers.

With the endorsement of the Washington Teachers' Union, @janeese4dc.bsky.social is up to a 7-0 lead in endorsements.

After a bit of a delay, Lewis George's full report is online, confirming these numbers: $219k raised from about 2,500 D.C. donors.

Some notable names among the contributors: CMs Brianne Nadeau, Zachary Parker, Charles Allen, Robert White and Christina Henderson.

My 11-year-old also plowed through Keeper of the Lost cities. She actually convinced me to read it and it's fun!
