30.06.2025 21:05 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Leon from Resident Evil 4, which his signature hair over his eye, holding his gun up in a cool pose. The last person you would expect to say the word 'Bingo' during a title drop.
18) Best Protag? Resident Evil 4's Leon Kennedy.
Simultaneously the coolest guy and dumbest dork in gaming. Posesses lightning-fast reflexes and yet can seem totally oblivious at other times. His one-liners are said in total confidence despite being awful, but it makes them amazing.
He's great.
A headshot of Berkut from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Below, text reads a quote from him: "Has a sheep any hope of leading wolves? No!"
17) Best Antag?
I quite like Berkut in Fire Emblem Echoes. An arrogant, threatening villain until you humble him, becoming increasingly desperate and petulant, yet you discover he can be a kind person; just one poisoned by the ideals of the Duma faith.
Incredible performance by Ian Sinclair as well
That is one hell of a first impression on the genre, that sounds magical
23.06.2025 18:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The box art for Clock Tower 3 in Europe: a silhouetted figure stands before a foggy mansion. Seems appropriately atmospheric for a horror game, right?
The game's protagonist, Alyssa, hides under a reception desk from antagonist Sledgehammer. Alyssa is on all-fours and it looks more like 2 kids playing Hide and Seek than a girl hiding from a bloodthirsty killer.
Antagonist Corroder, a gas-mask-wearing, acid-spray-weilding maniac, doing a weird crab pose in front of Alyssa. This isn't a cherry picked frame by the way: he just does this when he spots you.
Supporting character Dennis, looking like Ron Weasley, banging on the window with a gormless expression and an open hand with fingers apart. He's supposed to be a teenager but he acts like a toddler in this scene.
16) My favorite cutscenes aren't good persay, but because they're hilariously inappropriate.
Clock Tower 3 never knows when to chill. Characters spin around in tense scenes or crawl at each other in conversations. Its bizarre smash-cuts and tonal whiplash turn the game into a comedy, and I love it.
A screenshot of Balatro, Ante 6/8, on Blue Stake difficulty. Thunder has 8 Jokers on an Anaglyph Deck run, those being Hanging Chad (foil), Blueprint, Photograph, Swashbuckler (negative), Cloud 9 (negative), Showman (negative), Baseball Card, and Constellation. The round score is 13,969,462.
15) Screenshot of a game I'm playing right now?
ok
I wouldn't say I'm very good at this game, but today's Balatro run has been pretty fun.

The two game's protagonists, Alm and Celica, stand back-to-back in front of a castle, with two lines of cavaliers from the enemy side standing at attention around them.
13) There was a while where I was playing Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentina once a year, and it's still a special game to me, even after Three Houses became the talk of the town.
Perhaps not the best Fire Emblem, but a sensational breath of fresh air after Fates. I could go on and on.
The banner art for 'Hunt Down The Freeman', a Half Life fan game officially sold on Steam. On it, the protagonist Mitchell Shepard stands next to Half Life lead Gordon Freeman (who does not appear 'in the flesh' in the final game), in an icy mountain range where one of the game's levels are set.
12) Hunt Down the Freeman.
HEAR ME OUT.
Pre-patch, this was IMO the definitive 'bad video game'. Bad at communicating mechanics, poor vision, & refuses to follow the design that made the series its based on so good.
If you want to make games, and learn what NOT to do, this is the perfect example.
Part 4 feels the most like you could draw a character's face, and leave out the rest of their character design, and you could immediately identify who is who.
It'd be much harder to do that for the earliest and latest Araki works. Its strange to me how that bell curve works.

The Nintendo Switch inside of its dock, as well as its grey Joycon controllers inside the 'dog' handheld to make it better resemble a usable controller.
11) I mean, come on: PC.
There used to be a contest, but now? It's not even close.
But, I will say the PS2 is easily my favourite home console (the whole 6th generation of consoles was very well rounded), and I've had a great time with my Nintendo Switch over the last 8 years.
I could certainly believe it!

10) Best gameplay is way, WAY too broad to give a definitive answer, so I'll take this opportunity to say I love the gameplay loop of Firaxis' XCOM games. Its been far too long since I last played them, and I would love to do a stream of them one day.

9) For saddest scene, I'd have to go with the ending credits for Silent Hill 2. Especially for the In Water Ending, just because the context is even more heartbreaking.
The actress sounds like she's genuinely crying reading the script; its one hell of a scene.
8) Oooh, choices, choices: Silent Hill 2, Halo 2, Undertale, Payday 2...
But my favorite soundtrack is Ridge Racer Type 4.
The perfect mix of chill vibes and banging tunes that fit just about any racetrack in the game. Please, listen to it if you ever get the chance! www.youtube.com/watch?v=re1I...
Lanino and Elnino from Deltarune Chapter 3
7) Oops, forgot to post yesterday since I was hiding in a spoiler-free bubble so I could play Deltarune.
...y'know what? Given that game's on my mind right now, and this question is 'favourite game couple', I'll put these two here.
Chapters 1-4 have been fantastic. Highly recommended.
The head of Tyber Zann, the lead hero of the Zann Consortium faction in Star Wars: Empire At War. Also a few ships flying around. wheeeeeee
The 'corruption gas' that shows when the Zann have infiltrated a planet. Quit farting up the galaxy, man, that's gross.
6) Most annoying character?
The entire Zann Consortium from Star Wars: Empire at War
I know a lot of their gimmicks can be countered, but preventing their stupid corruption gas from spreading is maddening. They're annoying to fight in battles, too.
AND STOP BLOWING UP MY DEATH STAR IG-88, YOU FUCK
5) I'm actually gonna flip this one on its head (since nothing is coming to mind) and ask YOU this question instead!
Which video game character do I remind you of the most? Would love to see what you think of in the replies
I'm a big fan of the kind of procedural narrative that came from the Sims, and I think Tomodachi did that even better. There's a tragic element to the cycle of love that the game portrays, which makes the moments where two Miis stay a couple forever really sweet
Also funy song lyric minigame is gud
Box Art for Tomodachi Life, a 'life sim' starring customizable Mii characters for the Nintendo 3DS
4) Tomodachi Life.
People might think its weird for me to feel guilty about this, until I say that this is in my personal top 10.
Yes. The game that isn't a game. That just makes random romance drama happen between Miis or has them say weird stuff. I have about 300 hours in this, according to my 3DS
There was a mod for Lethal Company that added a mimic, and it definitely got the paranoia cogs turning in my brain.
But Pilgrim's mimic freaked me the fuck out, and I struggle to put my finger on precisely why
Love this! The cat looks so cute in your style
01.06.2025 13:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The logo for Pilgrim: a Lethal Company-like game set in a Dark Fantasy world.
3) Underrated is a hard one; a lot of my favourites are flawed, so I understand why they don't get much praise.
That being said, I think Pilgrim deserves more attention. Its overshadowed by Lethal Company and REPO, but its a lot of fun for a game that has its own take on their gameplay style.
An edited Spyro 3 screenshot where Spyro is talking to Captain Price, who claims Makarov has stolen the Dragon Eggs
2) Given Protagonist/Antagonist is a later question, I'll give a strange answer:
Captain Price
Not because I think he's a good character, but rather, imagining him in any other game scenario, going on tirades about Makarov (who is somehow behind the game's problems), is endlessly funny to me.
Those fools do not deserve to ride the shoopuf
