Trying to entirely replace vocational programmes with occupational programmes is never going to work at the scale that would be required. Following it to its logical end, there's a huge risk of ingraining geographical inequalities even if it was "successful".

AI/Microsoft CoPilot people - a created agent for M365 Copilot has been responding "Sorry, I wasn't able to respond to that. Is there something else I can help with?" since yesterday, to literally any and every request. Web browser version. Changed nothing from it previously working fine. Any ideas?

Equating coefficients, but I will show long division. I find that long division tends to lead to more mistakes, and I like equating coefficients as it also becomes my building blocks of logic around vectors, Rcos(x+a) formulae, parametrics, Binomial expansion problems, Partial Fractions.

14.06.2025 08:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've become a bit disillusioned by the stats part of A level maths with after working on Access to HE diplomas - effectively asking for an entire exploration of data/manipulating/cleaning/graphing. Developing conjectures, forming hypotheses, writing up a report. It feels like actual statistics.
13.06.2025 17:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I would agree with that, and in isolation both the questions this year are actually really nice.
But at times it feels less "here is a statistics question that organically requires the use of pure mathematics skills" and instead "this is a statistics context in order to ask a pure maths question"
It's particularly frustrating at AS (which we still do). Those two questions were basically 11 marks. When there's only 30 marks for STATS it just feels like, what on earth is the point of a stats curriculum
