Needless to say that I won’t be accepting this outfit for my commissions as well as other outfits that are culturally insensitive.

I am more than happy to draw accurate, culturally appropriate clothing with the right references though. Remember that cultures are not costumes.

Of course! The sexualisation is, of course, a major issue. Middle Eastern women have been fetishised for centuries (see: harem tropes + the reduction of bellydancing to seduction rather than art).

However, it’s also how Orientalism homogenises entire regions and cultures.

I think it's just bound to happen as none can understand your ocs better than you yourself can. I think it happens with Hemlocke the most. I think it's partly the vamp stuff and partly I may not convey him as well I imagine him with my writing skill. I keep trying to improve!
