The second-best bargain of the century:

Thanks for the feedback. All the best for your doctorate.

The paper is about understanding clinical presentations of disorder. Autism, as you suggest, is not a disorder. This is a point we endeavour to make clear in the paper and associated work — eg:

We worked on this paper for about 10 years before finally seeing it in print. It connects with issues that have been central to the discipline of psychology for the last century — but which, we argue, fell by the wayside due to a limited understanding of the nature of the self.

A paper I often share with students (and others):
'A single-item measure of social identification: Reliability, validity, and utility', from @alexhaslam.bsky.social & Tom Postmes

Yes, this was a really great meeting — all the better for being small and intimate. It was a great opportunity to connect, and explore the nuances of leadership.

Not new but re-reading this for something I'm writing:

I was fortunate to meet Jimmy Carter when I was a postgrad at Emory U in 1986. It was clear then that he was a passionate advocate for human rights and for the transformative power of education. In the interests of his legacy, I’m glad he left us before Jan 20.

In all likelihood, I'm guessing yes.
There's a lovely article by @brucedaisley.bsky.social here on the Oxford Dictionary's word of the year.

The talk has particular significance for me because it was at SASP in 1987 at ANU that I gave my first ever conference talk. I also have many happy memories of working at ANU in the 1990s — in an outstanding team of researchers led by John Turner.

My short talk at #SASP2024 today will revisit the keynote I gave at EAWOP last year on 25 Years of the Social Identity Approach to Psychology in Organizations, focusing on the proven value of the approach in the context of COVID-19.

In a special issue on replication they were criticised because “if a study replicates we don’t know more than we did before; if it doesn’t, science comes to a standstill”
