The cat swatted at the raccoon, which was trying to groom it, but didn't seem more put out than that. Raccoon took the hint and toddled off to bed.

Raccoon was trying to groom cat, cat swatted (but nothing worse), raccoon went off to its treehouse bedroom, since it was light out and bedtime anyway.

I am living in a children’s book. Stray cat and raccoon on my next-door neighbor’s roof, and they appear to be buds.
