A mushroom called Amethyst Deceiver, purple in color, on a forest floor covered with moss, leaves, and pine needles.

Came across this little beauty, amethyst deceiver, while hiking last week in the mid Willamette Valley in Oregon.

In this portrait format photo there is a water mill to see in the top of the photo embedded in groups of trees. The stream flowing in front of it leads through the whole photo to the foreground, where you can see a colourful leaf on a mossy rock. It is a rainy day, which makes the colours of moss and and leaves more intense. A longer shutter time gives the water a creamy look, but the flow of the water and its textures are visible.

This water mill is just a stone's throw away from the waterfall I've posted recently - photographed on the same day.
