30.11.2025 22:14 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But who murdered the packet of rosemary crackers, and did it occur well before the first advert break like any that get opened here?
30.11.2025 21:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Everything in the old days was sepia and had film scratches duh.
(The old days being the period spanning original footage from dinosaur times through to 90s TV news reports)
There was a whole shrinkflation fuss about them making them more concave a few years back.
26.11.2025 21:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Only possible since they hollowed the segments out no doubt. I imagine the old ones would be like trying to bite into a billiard ball.

P.S. I am not a crank.
There's a lot of EPROMs in a clock as it turns out. Some of which are 35+ years old at this point, so I hope the owners/stewards of such things have taken steps to preserve their contents from bitrot (and backup battery juice!)

I've thrown the full quality converted pngs up here for now:

Watch this space for clock hands etc as reverse engineering progresses hopefully π
I spent today extracting image data from some interesting eprom dumps...
Figuring out the fairly simple addressing, and shuffling everything around and recombining into a single file that could be decoded as a YUV video frame. π
It's cold outside, but not to worry - I'll fire me clock up for heat.

20.11.2025 18:41 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I switched over fully to Open Camera for photos earlier in the year after getting infuriated by all the horrible melty image processing the google one does to everything.
Playing with video on Blackmagic Camera now as OC couldn't do Proper Framerates.
I accept I have brought this completely upon myself

This seemed a lot funnier in my head sorry π

Had to check a couple of other recoveries to be sure it wasn't a recovery error π

17.11.2025 01:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A very boring era, but it did briefly give us some of Ceefax's most colourful pages, albeit only visible in-vision at the time π

Deadline is shortly before the final week in November.

Anyone who thinks Bond films need to continue on from each other as a series of logically connected sequels should be kept well away from making Bond films anyway.
