It’s right up there with β€œBueller, Bueller” for things that I find myself quoting.

As cold and snowy as it is here in Ohio, at least we do not have to play football in it.

It's currently below freezing in Alaska, so how does a community develop in such a harsh climate? Lloyd and Andrew sat down with Prof. Ann Carlos (University of Colorado Boulder) to chat about life in the most northern State.

Am putting together a video / workshop on how to use LLMs / AI for research projects + coding. What are some things that you would most benefit from seeing? This would be targeted towards economists.

I have always admired Miami for its strong commitment to both high-quality scholarship and undergraduate education. This interesting paper really speaks to the mechanisms and explains why schools like mine really punch above their weight with respect to student outcomes.

πŸ‘‹ I'm Danielle, and I'm on the #econjobmarket this year!

Let's start with a student describing her segregated school:

"The school felt temporary. Built like a warehouse with aluminum siding . . . I had a slipshod education"

The twist? The student is white, and her school is private.

This isn’t true for health care. Attempts at moving in a European/socially democratic direction failed miserably in the 1940s and while ambitious, Medicare and Medicaid left out any β€œnon-deserving” poor and capitulated heavily to hospitals and the AMA in a way that ignited health care inflation.
