It has become apparent that there's a large group of people in the US who can no longer distinguish their political party from their religion.

I've been thinking about the importance of books lately, and how important it is to read a wide variety of them. News, social media, etc. help us know what's going on, but books from a diversity of times and places help us understand what's going on, and there's a big difference between the two.
