It's exploitation, pure and simple. Join me and the voices of other creators to combat the unlicensed use of copyrighted works for A.I.

With all the horrors happening in the world right now, we also need to remind ourselves of its wonders and joys - and the sheer magnificence of those creatures with whom we share our planet.

I met Stephen Donaldson at Seattle WorldCon this summer, and told him he'd inspired me, just as Tolkien had inspired him. His response: what have I wrought?

My answer: just add more commas! Takes away all the fretting. Plus, who doesn't love commas?

The No Kings/No Dictators protest in Kahului, Maui brought out over 1,500 people to express their rage against POTUS. This Maui Indivisable march occurred simultaneously with one in Kihei, and there was an earlier one in Lahaina - making it thousands of Maui people coming together to demand better!

In honor of Banned Books Week, I gathered all of the banned fiction from our bookshelves. They made only a tiny tower, because when we moved to Maui we had to leave most of our books behind. We've been collecting more, but still have a ways to go!

Please read banned books! They're eye opening.

Seattle WorldCon was a blast! Mia and I had a great time manning (womanning!) the Authors Against Book Bans booth, and my 2 panels went great.

Just finished the ARC for The Witch Roads, compliments of @kateelliottsff.bsky.social (in consolation for me missing out on paddling this outrigger season)! Kate is a master worldbuilder, and this book proves she’s at the height of her powers. Lovers of High Fantasy are going to eat this one up!
