Indeed. I myself am autistic, and my life has only improved after my late diagnosis, as it's thrown a lot of my world into context. I've gained a great deal of help from the online autistic community.
However, as a researcher, it's an absolute pain in the ass.

Illustrated image divided into four panels, each showing a head of a bat with a text label. Top left: little guy, a regular looking back with a dark face and light colored fur, top right: little guy deluxe, a bat with a mask and large ears alongside a bat with a leaf shaped nose, bottom left: what is even going on here, a visored bat with a large forehead next to a bat with a large, wrinkly nose, bottom right: o hi doggie, a fruit bat with its tongue sticking out.

A realistic tiger beetle illustration against a beige canvas texture background. The beetle has a mostly white abdomen with a brown stripe down the middle, its thorax and head are iridescent green. It has large, jagged mandibles and fairly thin long legs, as well as fur on its underside. Text: Utah's most special guy.
Utah's most special guy, the Coral Pink Sand Dunes tiger beetle, only occupies a 1800m x 300m area in the state park of the same name. This guy is NOT going places!
