2000s NFL logos (in regards to form, not color) have that in spades. one comes from the 90s; the Titans. and it looks like we're about to lose that one, primarily, to nostalgia.

and narratives. a poorly drawn cartoon of a mascot playing a sport can still have its place. i do not think this is better design than something that represents a larger, meaningful narrative in simple, timeless, well executed form...

they were never good logos—or uniforms. the craft was bad. no one liked it. it represented a losing era. it became dated. to bring back stuff like this simply because it is of a different style than more contemporary design is a mistake. teams should also examine design's personality...

i absolutely believe there are many things better than in the past than today, even within sports design. but what worries me is an overcorrection that may happen without important examination and nuance. some logos went away for good reason...

nostalgia stems from not being able to deal with modern times. combine that with an uncertain world (to say the least) and its no wonder people want to escape, through sports, to a simpler, familiar time. at least one that is perceived that way...

i think nostalgia in sports branding is stronger today than its ever been. generally, i believe aggressive logos & color palettes of the 2000s have run their course and people are ready for brighter, bolder, charming design like of the 70s-90s.

love the cluster at the top. the rest is too minimal for Nothing. besides being part of the product identity and what makes them cool, detailing in the body would balance the upper part nicely.
