A gouache painting of a sienna-colored beetle on a subdued blue-green background. Shading on the beetle is in tones of lavender and mustard, with white highlights and black shadows.

I am finished painting this #beetle today. I do think a shadow is in order, with this one but I need time away from the piece, to get fresh eyes!
