Her lungs wouldn’t cooperate. Caitlyn ventured again. “Please tell me you’re real and not a vision from the Gods?” Vi had wanted to say, ‘You’re perfect,’ and ‘I love you’ and any of the many splendid things that might’ve sounded akin to, ‘You want a hand? I’ve got two.’ Instead, what came out was, “Fuck.”
