Alysa Liu’s Olympic run came with terms. Her choreographer helps her express them Liu is the best U.S. hope for an Olympic medal in women's figure skating, which would be the country's first in the competition since 2006.

β€œWhen Liu, 20, decided to return to skating, she did so with conditions. She’d wear what she wants. Dance to the music she wants. Eat what she wants. Take breaks when she wants…. [Skating] would be the vehicle through which she displayed the real Alysa.”

she did it! her! way!!

Haha I THINK you should be OK - that flight is always dependent on the plane and crew the night prior but I think things should be manageable… but I will be thinking of ya! Hope it’s all good!

I’ll take it! We’ve made it to the point of winter where the sun actually helps clean up the driveway after a storm! (Also I am excited for a big storm - we are overdue!)

Long overdue to give the 1340 requirements an overhaul! My hope, knowing how slow these standards are to change, is fewer requirements overall. (Though I feel everyone in meteorology should have at least basic understanding of programming.)

I have a theory about this. Regular people want tech to reduce our real-life burdens: cooking, errands, dishes, and definitely laundry. Rich tech bros already have "staff" to take care of all that for them, so they don't care. 1/

Fresh bread and pastries from this month’s bread box.

Fresh bread and pastries from this month’s bread box.

Flyer that has the description of each bread in this month’s box:

The Hanukkah Box
Hannuka celebrates an incredible miracle Jewish warriors were fighting the Greek-Syrian army when they found themselves short of oil for their lamp. Their one day's worth lasted eight days. They won the battle, drove out the oppressive king, and rededicated the temple.
People are still celebrating a couple thousand years later (who's counting?). And this year we're doing it with a unique box. Happy Chanukah

Rye Honey Orange Sourdough (Crusty Loaf)
Rye and honey cake with orange is a popular Hanukah treat, so we're turning it into a sourdough.

Challah Loaf (Soft Loaf)
This extra special loaf rich, slightly sweet flavor, glossy crust, and soft, fluffy interior. If you know your Gwen Stefani, you'll know you couldn't return it even if you wanted to: There ain't no challah back, girl!

Rugelach
Sweet, rich, and good looking-truly, rugelach is everything I'm not. Rich, flaky, butter dough surrounded by a sweet filling, these little guys are gonna be your new winter favorite with a hot cup of coffee.

Sufganiyot Cookies
Last month, we tested fall favorites well in advance. This month, we tested our items...well, mind your own business. But this cookie interpretation of a fried, jelly-filled doughnut (Sufganiyot) is hard to mess up.

Halva Brownies
This is a great month for longer shelf life items (dare I suggest they might last eight days?!) Tartine's
SUPER CHOCOLATELY brownie recipe gets a sesame twist as we fuse it with halva. Halva alone is too sweet for my palate, if I'm being candid, so I love putting it against brownies for a little more balance. Chocolate is a bean, right? Beans are healthy, right? Come on, please give me this.

Each month, we get a bread box from Duluth’s Best Bread. This month’s theme is Hanukkah and they really hit it out of the park! Can’t wait to devour it all!

Aviation accidents β€œreceive an intense investigation by the NTSB with specific recommendations to improve safety, while events like the July 4th flash flood with 119 fatalities rely on entities like Camp Mystic self-policing themselves and developing their own plans to try to improve safety.”
