I always loved that his freshman year he came out looking like the next Patrick Ewing and averaging 5 blocks a game, but then Mutombo improved and so he totally willingly moved over to the 4 for a couple years, only to slide back to center as a senior and go nuts again.

(The 1988-89 Georgetown team averaged 9.1 blocks per game, which is still the record since blocks were counted.)

Alonzo Mourning and Dikembe Mutombo were freshmen at Georgetown in 1988-89, and they didn't share the floor much.

They combined to average 7.3 blocks in 39.6 minutes per game.

Only one TEAM in the past decade has reached that, 2021-22 Auburn with Walker Kessler and Jabari Smith Jr.

Two thoughts on urinals:

1. There should always be an odd number. If you have three urinals, you really have two, but if you have four urinals, you also really have two, etc.

2. Most men's rooms need about twice as many urinals as stalls.

Our work bathroom has four urinals and six stalls. Why?

The Kygo house remix of β€œHigher Love” being Whitney Houston’s second-most-streamed song on Spotify is … unsettling.

Will NBA coaches ever go back to wearing suits? Doc Rivers offers fashionable idea Would NBA coaches ditch quarter-zips after Pat Riley called them out? Perhaps in the playoffs, Doc Rivers said

Pat Riley obsessively telling Erik Spoelstra that he looks better in a suit is hilarious to me www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba...

Per @barttorvik.bsky.social, since Jan. 1, the three best teams in the country have been the three best teams of last year:

1. Florida
2. Duke
3. Houston

Can't fuckin' believe I'm doing this but here goes: Twitter is a mind prison, a true jail of career advancement. I stopped posting on there and within months I became the CEO of The Onion and I'm not kidding. Went back on last year, felt worse, then left again.

All these regular seasons are way too long. Can’t blame anyone for not caring about every minute or even every game.

We always hear about how hockey players aren’t wired like NBA players and play hard all the time but then these big international moments and playoff hockey come and we realize that actually hockey players are coasting in the regular season too don’t @ me

Another Oweh thing: He’s now got a three-year track record of roughly 35% shooting from 3, often off the dribble, often defended, sometimes from NBA range, increasing his frequency each year. And still no one thinks he can shoot. And I can’t disagree. Yet I still think he’s an NBA player.

AJ Dybantsa has a lot of Jayson Tatum’s offensive game, without Jayson Tatum’s defense. Which is the thing that makes Tatum truly special.

β€œIt’s harder to follow” sure but did you really know the bench players on other teams 10-20 years ago?

β€œI am not as attached to players in my team and watching them” so you enjoyed that emotional connection to unpaid labor?

I don’t know how anyone watching college sports the past couple years could think transfer portal and player pay have made the games worse.
