What pictures - not just the wonderful Ariane's mic use but the be-fagged bouncers too, magnificent.

Yesterday's story by @connorsharp.bsky.social (a $22bn road, in THIS economy?) is on track to be one of our most-read!

Which is good, because we've been banging this affordability drum for quite some time.

Covid hospitalisations climb as New Zealand enters new wave There’s been an increase in hospitalisations and in wastewater detections, and it’s expected to last another month or two.

There were 19 reported covid related deaths last week and a big uptick in hospitalizations. We're in a wave.

We haven't been hearing much about it, so I'm pleased to see this article on Stuff.

That's definitely the approach as far as utilising anyone who has a voice they might care to listen to. In my experience logic, politely stating the facts etc & the utter ludicrousness of the situation has no effect whatsoever, they only listen/care about a very small privileged bunch. Bon chance

These companies have processes designed to be obstructive to individuals/small labels & operators, they literally only respond to majors etc There really isn't a way around this without personal connections or kicking up a huge stink. It's one of the reasons I gave up my label. Life's too short 2/2

Good luck with that. Don't use Distrokid so not with them but previously the only way I've been able to sort out similar erroneous sample/video claims was to use friendly people at UMG here in NZ. On more than 1 occasion it was their Australian office making the claim & they weren't even aware 1/2

Sam Altman just said he has tweaked his deal with the Pentagon and wrote a list of things he says are part of it, and he chose to include this really great line:

"One thing I think I did wrong: we shouldn't have rushed to get this out on Friday."

There’s a lot going on but noting as of today RNZ and Waatea News appear to be the only NZ media who have picked this up and run with it.
In light of continued, blatant disregard for domestic and international law from the US it’s even more important to scrutinise this deal beyond one news cycle.

β€œAny military members seeking to take advantage of their subordinates by advancing their blood-soaked, Christian nationalist wet dreams upon the flames of this latest non-Congressionally sanctioned attack against Iran, should be swiftly, aggressively and visibly prosecuted.”

And, once again, why I have it as a contract point that all art/translation/etc done for my work is done by a human, and why I write all my work myself (aside from the fact I can do it faster and better than if I used "AI" and then had to massage its extremely median text).

Gloriavale ex-leader wins appeal, avoids jail for 20 years of sex offending Crown lawyers had argued prison was needed given his role as Gloriavale leader.

Way to show girls and women - yet again - that their trauma means nothing and they may as well not bother trying to get justice.

Gloriavale leader Howard Temple’s prison sentence quashed - replaced with home detention

Calling AI "slop" has been one of the most effective instances of the public rebranding a product and it pisses them off.

Typically excellent investigative journalism by Kirsty Johnston which raises as many questions as it answers especially when it comes to transparency. This retrogressive, captured Govt needs to go.
