Or maybe it was always Tunis but briefly Turin because European was thought to be more acceptably exotic. Or perhaps (as in the famous stories of grand pianos being sent to Beirut instead of Bayreuth) the person who took the printing order just misheard/ misinterpreted Tunis. History eh?

That would make so much sense. We always had a Tunis Cake at Christmas and I never could work out what about it was Tunisian in nature. It certainly looks more like an Italian confection.

A selection of brooches, rings, dress clasps, buttons alongside an antique compact, nail varnish, ribbon and a tupperware box full of beads, with a couple of reels of thread to rethread the beads when I'm in the right frame of mind. Just on the edge of the picture are a bottle of rosΓ© scent and a scented candle on a Rennie Mackintosh tile

Just some dressing table clutter. I really must get round to restringing those beads...

This article is eviscerating in its snark, and led me down a rabbit hole of Wikipedia pages of the aristocracy that finished with this section about John Hervey, 7th Marquess of Bristol.

TLDR: Maybe we shouldn't eat the rich, but only because they've all got CJD.

Absolutely 😊 From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I suppose the other option is that the overpaid tw*ts could buy their own pair of posh shoes in the same style

Abortion is a health issue. Access to healthcare is not always straightforward. Sometimes coercive control limits access, sometimes this leads women to seek other options. This shouldn't be criminalised. It should be handled within the health and social care sectors, to stop the problem upstream.

Please take a few seconds to tell the Lords to stop putting road blocks in front of abortion decriminalisation. Nobody should be under threat of life in prison for ending their own pregnancy

Best served with gooseberry sauce to cut the oiliness, so I'm told. I think that might be something put around by the Honourable Association of Mackerel, to dissuade folk from eating their brethren
