Just like the true crime consumption, I see a lot of ppl that like tragedy and harm as content but not actually divest or invest to help victims and survivors.

Nobody wants to end human trafficking and assault structures and interpersonal dynamics under patriarchy. But everybody wants to be the perfect example of someone who "knows, self defense, owns pepper spray/ self defense keychains " , or make vids about how they almost got snatched up at target.

Ppl were already told that this is the reason #metoo failed. Because ppl don't want to really end structures of violence. Just offset the violence to not be a victim, or to justify why victims "earned" or "deserved" the condition of being harmed.

Modern day associations of domestic labor and "womanhood" would not be so distinct as it is if it wasn't made tangible through institutions that did "domestic labor trainings".

Ppl want to keep pretending gender relations with labor just popped up out of nowhere cuz "men do this and girls do that", just through regular socializing when it is very constructed by media and social institutions.

To say that being a woman is more than domestic labor is a social taboo that gets reinforced by associations with Tableauxs and pagentry. But all that media was always meant to reinforce what was being taught in the boarding school(agriculture) institutions, anyway.

The proof continues to exist in ppl's difficulties separating womanhood from domestic labor. The training and assimilation runs deep even intergenerationally.
