White Americans that haven't invested time in black culture don't see the discrepancy in saying, "Woke is just empathy for others'.
Black Americans know it means having awareness of the apathy from white Americans they will face and how to navigate through it their entire life.

We started the bonding process for Freya and Wallace 💜

Nothing makes it clearer that deportation is just their method for ethnic cleansing than trying to “deport” people who belong to this land and have for thousands of years. Yet who is making this clear? Who is defending us?

We've been playing Stardew Valley almost every night and are now into winter year 1. N is so excited he got all the dwarf scrolls already because it took years in our last playthrough. Sometimes it's the little things that bring joy haha

We got them frozen and then thawed to room temp. Fit them on the waffle iron and then press down hard! It took longer to get crispy than expected, maybe like 15 min

Hosted dinner with friends. Menu: tater tot waffles (with bacon, sour cream, and green onion), Korean fried chicken from a local place, salad with homemade vinaigrette, then regular waffles with syrup and whipped cream. And fresca strawberry mint mocktails!

N and I played stardew valley every evening this week and discovered that ducks will jump in and out of water if they have access on the farm. This is delightful!!
