Well, unfortunately #Blackhistorymonth is gone already, but I had really nice experiences, researching and discovering about myself in this month, being mixed kinda makes me feel like I'm not part of Black history, Kinda not honestly but some people made me feel belonging in a way.

Hope you all had a great Black History Month!

Maybe I don't suffer the same as Black people do or have the same privileges as White people do, but I have a bloodline that brought me here and I can't ever forget that, even if someone tell me otherwise.

Now I managed to convince dad for us to do a heritage test, now we gonna know more for sure ✌️

A friend of mine convinced me to keep going (damn she's good at convincing people to not lower their head), because it was not about skin colour, proven heritage, culture or anything like that, It was about being proud of who you are and the past that brought you here, it was about BLACK HISTORY.

Black History as I understood before was about the Black people and then only, so why I was in search of something I didn't belong to? I'm not Black, I'm mixed (brown/mestiço), so I was whiter than my father, we were not the same...I was about to stop reading about all of this until...

Throughout this month, I felt like I wanted to search more about Africa, Black History and culture, more specifically Benin, not because I'm black myself, but because my dad is and since I'm his son (obviously), I kinda felt the need to read more about our heritage, but something felt wrong...
