There are so many examples in power metal though. Sonata Arctica didn't fall off immediately but they were never better than on Ecliptica. Same w/Thunderstone and their first album Twilightning had a perfect first album and slowly fell off. Merging Flare. Svolk.

The only example I can think of in progressive metal is Ne Obliviscaris.

King Crimson is another example of a band that came out of the gates perfect and then struggled to really figure out what to do on their second album, too.

Back when I made the decision to transition. I figured the thing to do was plan a two year process where I told my parents at the end of it, and then once I had a single conversation with a friend where they reacted positively to me coming out I just told everyone at once. I'm not good w/secrets.

It's so much easier for me to see when someone i care about is being mistreated and feel comfortable making a scene about it. My friends are amazing and it makes me mad if theyre mistreated. The contrast with how much I struggle to do that for myself is startling.
