The plague has taken over my household for the last week and a half. Today, I am disinfecting everything, burping my house, and baking lemon blueberry muffins. We are going to kick this thing one way or another!

I think I have slept more in the last four days than I have in the last five years. Started on heavy-duty antibiotics and steroids this afternoon that can start working at literally any point now and begin kicking this infections ass. I'd like to be amongst the living again!

If you asked me how my week is going, I'd tell you that I spent the entire 6 hours I had between getting home from work and going to bed applying for new jobs.

As long as what is in my brain turns out halfway decent, I plan on doing exactly that!!

Double batch of sourdough is rising for two completely experimental loaves. Prepping to make a large amount of chili for dinner and for the freezer, then baking the double batch of sourdough chocolate chip cookie dough that I made yesterday! Trying to bake away the Sunday Scaries! #SourdoughSky

Every day, I am thankful to come home from work safely to my quiet little bubble full of love. Today, I am feeling extra lucky to be snuggled up with my littles while my husband cooks dinner. Savoring every moment before I have to wake up and do it all over again tomorrow.

It turns into cement!

The thing about sourdough that no one tells you about until you are too invested in making it is that you can't wash the dishes in your sink! Live in the Midwest and want to bake during winter? Have fun bundling up to go dump all of the water outside! #Sourdoughsky

I made my first sourdough loaf today. Definitely a few things I will tweak for next time, but not bad for the first attempt!

Provider in the back of the clinic: "Go ask Jamie! She will know!!"
*Me on the phone trying to do my job*
Provider: "Hurry up! I have an important question!! What do priests say when they're doing an exorcism?"
Me: *answers questions about exorcisms*
Provider: "See! I told you she would know!!"

At least starting my sourdough journey is giving me a break from my regularly scheduled anxiety and filling it with "oh my God, have I already killed this thing before it's alive?" anxiety!

Sleep? On Christmas Adam?! I couldn't possibly do such a thing!

Spent the day simmering a giant pot of soup and making bread. The most perfect way to ground myself before embracing the holiday craziness! Happy Yule, friends!

I'm just over here shopping for fancy advent calendars because my dogs are going to be so sad when advent is over, and we don't sit on the floor and open the little doors with treats anymore.

Grief is the weirdest thing. One minute, I'm bopping along to Opalite, and the next, I'm crying in the kitchen because the dogs supplements stuck together and I only need one now. I just really miss my girl.
