...but I can use English language to ask Claude AI to read a paper, extract its data from git hub and simulate it with a neural network, with visualisations, and then write a report on what it's just done.

Go figure?

It is 2026 and...

- Google scholar still doesnt know the page range of APA publications

Automatic captioning can cope with most of my nasal whine it seems. However it systematically fails to understand it when I say "Rescorla", which it takes some amazing guesses at.

Particularly like "The skull of Wagner", which sounds like a "choose your own adventure novel" for learning theorists.

Yeah, we've had this for a while. The great irony is that the major systemic IT issues we face as an institution have been caused by our own institution investing in shite software, not some terrifying email from outside.

I think the best part of the health and safety training course i just did was the 5 minute description of the institutional health and safety committee structure and reporting procedure.

This definitely made me feel healthier and safer

Not sure if I was part of a psychology experiment on imitation, or whether I have met a person who, like, Alexa, only communicates after an activation phrase.

5 min prior to deportation on a nice holiday boat trip I pop into a nearby coffee shop...

Me: Hi. Do you do coffees to go?
Waitress: Good morning.

Even though it has become quite popular in recent years, it still feels isolated and magical. A very special spot.

It is quite the peculiarity that, as far as I can tell, all the winter olympic sports are variations on sliding.

No ice climbing, igloo building, snowball fights, snow shovelling, ice block lifting.

Just to note - I didn't steal it from the library to gift it away, Having acquired a second copy recently, I had put it there only 24 hours before, and found a better home for it.

I rarely engage in thievery these days.
