yeah basically!! too many types of colonizers we had to start naming them. hell world

i guess just using spanish (and portuguese) colonizers is probably a better way to phrase it! i didn’t think further about it but i will try and phrase it like that more in the future because like you said, can obscure things a lot

i get what you mean about it seeming like sanitation!! and i definitely think that happens for some who see it since education re literally anything about colonialism is kinda glossed over in the states at least

yeah i was familiar enough with it to know the origin of it but definitely using it as a reference to that particular time period of spanish colonization of LatAm since it’s the term most commonly used here to refer to well, that group of colonizers
