Years ago I worked at a cafe at the Southern Cross University library in Lismore NSW. There was a koala colony on campus. One day I saw a koala walking into the library. I think it wanted an education too.

Have been back to my #writing this last week after an unavoidable break.

Spending time getting my head deeply into my story again. . I've been retyping the whole 10 chapters I've done already with a light edit. Hope I can start writing more new words soon.

Been away.

Had a #chronicillness flare. Out of action a few months, got better.🤒

Went away for a break visiting relatives.😁 REALLY needed it.

Got home and promptly got a bad cold.🤧 Getting better at least.

I want to get back to #writing. But right now need to rest or the fatigue won't go away.🛏️

Thank you. I guess I have a drive to write that is always there, even when I can't physically do it. Makes those times when I can't write difficult because I miss it so much, but I always get back to writing when my health is going through a better phase.

It's hot (38C/100F) and very windy and there is a bushfire down the road.

Then I put on a playlist I create from various movie, tv show and video game soundtracks. Music is a huge part of my writing process.

Health issues. I have chronic health issues that fluctuate, and often spend long periods unable to write. I work on maintaining my health as much as possible, but the times when I can't write is something I just need to accept. Unless there is a cure for my illness there is no way to overcome it.

How much my condition fluctuates. Just because I seem OK today doesn't mean I won't be incapacitated tomorrow.

Also, I did yoga before I got sick. It did NOT stop me from getting health problems and chronic pain. Definitely isn't a cure. So annoying when people think yoga will fix everything.

I was scared to read it and that I'd hate it. Plenty to fix, but I actually enjoyed it and it reminded me why I love this story. 💖

I like to write to film/tv/video game music.

I use the music to brainstorm to, dreaming up story ideas. Then I create a playlist, like my own soundtrack to my story and listen to it as I write and edit.

I find it hard to write with lyrics in the background, so I always use instrumental music.

If it's helpful, it's not procrastination. It's preparation. Some writers gather pictures of what their characters might look like.

In Sims 4 I have created all of the major characters in my WIP and used mods to play out story ideas. Don't know how helpful it is to my writing, but it is fun.

I do this. Actually thought I was being weird. Glad I'm not the only one!

That sucks. It's a horrible feeling when you can't write, isn't it?

I haven't been able to write. Been very sick. I hate that. I'm hoping I'll be well enough to get back into it soon.
