After a medical procedure where the doctor didn't realize I was in pain until I fully blacked out on her... I'm definitely having thoughts. Outwardly displaying feelings is uncomfortable but maybe more necessary than I wanted to believe

One of my weirder trauma recovery realizations is that masking pain and discomfort is necessary for safety in unsafe situations, but actively more dangerous in safe situations.
