From the archives: I used to draw odd sketches on the back of my original art just to amuse my collaborators and the folks in the production department. Here's a brush and ink doodle of Koko the gorilla from the back of a Conan page I pencilled a million years ago.

Odd thing from back in 2016. A Russian scanlation team was doing an unauthorized version of Nick Spencer’s and my old Image title “The Fix.”
When they got to the “fuck fuck fuck” panel, they went with a wild variety of cusses rather than sticking with the one.

And since I don’t want folks to think that the only thing notable about Albert Dorne was his resemblance to Abe Vigoda, here’s a reminder that he was, in fact, a world-class badass draftsman.

He was actually a pro boxer for awhile, with a record of 10-1!

Here's a poster I did for Milwaukie's upcoming New Year's celebration. The Bing cherry was first cultivated here & we have a lot of geese. I sketched this out last year &, although the arts committee didn't ultimately go with it then, it was popular enough that it was requested for this year's event

I thought I'd write about some good how-to books for aspiring comics artists who want to acquire some academic, foundational drawing skills without spending tens of thousands of dollars.
