What do you do to wind down for bed?

I grew up w/o fluoride (also, little dental care & for the record little sugar) and keeping my teeth is enough of a battle that at 42 I get to celebrate TF out of zero cavities.

So far I am only missing one unnoticeable tooth and I'd like to keep it that way. It started rotting in childhood!

I have no idea how to reply to that

I did have to have a ton of remedial work done on my teeth (growing up without fluoride actually REALLY sucks!) through my 30s when I'd be going in every other week and I am very please to now be on a 6 month schedule!

I had no cavities. And got no comments on where I need to brush or floss better. Very proud of me for this accomplishment.

Even more proud that I did not puke on my hygienist. I have... problems with things being in my mouth so the dentist is a very unhappy place for me.

The only thing more impossible than meeting a nice woman at church is meeting a nice man at church.

Saw someone complaining on here that ABQ airport hadn't said anything about the stupid video but well, anyways, it looks like they decided last week not to play it and made the official statement yesterday.

Yay me. Cat to the vet yesterday and myself to the dentist today. Real adulting.

Taking good care of the teeth is very important self-care.

A life changing moment was a high-school that just gave students some of the books we read for English. I still have them with notes from 15yo me! A little grant to buy students books can go a long way.

I can attest for the loss of sight. I got measles prior to vaccines. After spending a month isolated in a darken room, I came out with vision so bad I couldn't see more than a foot in front of me. That is a lifelong consequence. People need with wake up and get their kids vaccinated.

Starting to time my bluesky use. This may mean a need to prune and curate my feeds more carefully. All of a sudden I'm like, "nope, ain't got time for that nonsense."

Distracted from the work I'm intending to be doing by an 1899 help wanted ad specifying "absolutely no small pox" alongside news about strikes at smelters and a news blurb about a kid who blew his hand off in a gun accident. Maybe let's not go back to that? Please?

Poor kitty has not improved further so after phone call with the vet he gets to go again tomorrow for more tests.

Must say, am happy this vet is willing to take a ton of time on the phone carefully answering questions and discussing options.

20yo me took greyhound alone to Portland AND Chicago. Parents were horrified. I had a great time, met a ton of interesting people, had to mail 2 boxes of books home to myself.
