This is almost always some prep i have done that didn't find a game home. Making use of other stuff locked in prep is work you did but never got to use. You are a capable DM.

Is there a sidequest or sub story you wanted to work in you have already thought of? Can you tease it tonight?

Often i have things i wanted to do but there isn't a good time? Low prep/imposter nights are those nights. I drop a scene overhearing a conversation about a future event ...

First, for your own sake..... Remind yourself your players have also done very little prep 😉

players can spend an hour w/ a small detail. Think about the story prep you have already. Is there a detail (object/knowledge) you can drop in tonight that will add player driven RP/story etc?
