I get that perspective, and if this trade had happened before the season, I’d probably be more on board. But I think Simons wasn’t just great in his role — he was a key piece who helped shape the Celtics into the contender they've become today.

Does Nikola Vučević represent an upgrade that truly makes the Celtics better than what Anfernee Simons provided off the bench? It’s not an easy question, especially just 30 minutes after the trade, and especially considering the job Neemias Queta has done as the go-to center this season.

Jaylen Brown has been named the Eastern Conference’s Player of the Month for December.
