Having suffered the pain of a tooth infection I can unequivocally say that this man died in absolute agony. The type of nerve pain that will have you screaming and wondering quite rightly if you’ve gone insane

This man was tortured through neglect, and everyone involved is an irredeemable monster

Glad people are settling on the term "pervert glasses". Bonus points if you also say it while posting a picture of Mark Zuckerberg or call them Mark Zuckerberg's pervert glasses.

6yo decided we should trap a leprechaun by painting something the floor color & putting a trapdoor over a ball pit. She and her mom have now added a pulley system to the ceiling so a Tupperware will also fall and trap him, I guess as a failsafe in case the trapdoor sticks? Unclear, will report back

Jazz OTD: I see some conflicting information online, but I believe that that the final two cuts on the celebrated, Grammy-nominated album "Long Yellow Road" by the Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin Big Band were recorded on March 4, 1975. Here's one of them, and it's particularly striking. #jazzsky

Night and Day - Stan Getz and Kenny Barron
YouTube video by Josh Bennier Night and Day - Stan Getz and Kenny Barron

Jazz OTD: Staying with Stan Getz - he recorded his final album, the now-classic "People Time," over four nights (March 3-6, 1991) live in Copenhagen. He's great on it, but to my mind the star is Kenny Barron, the great pianist in this album of duets. This incredible March 4 track shows why. #jazzsky

Jazz OTD: I'm not terribly knowledgeable about Stan Getz, but two of his albums definitely merit posts today. First, on March 4, 1964, the tenor saxophonist recorded "Nobody Else But Me," with Gene Cherico (b), Joe Hunt (d), and a young Gary Burton on vibes; Burton also composed this gem. #jazzsky

The Feds Targeted Charlotte. Now a Local Democrat Who Helped ICE Faces Voters. - Bolts North Carolina lawmaker Carla Cunningham voted to mandate compliance with ICE, and derided immigrants on the House floor. The Democrat faces an intense March primary.

JUST IN: North Carolina's Dem lawmaker Carla Cunningham gave the GOP the decisive vote to pass a law forcing police to comply with ICE. She said "all cultures are not equal."

She just lost reelection BIG in the Dem primary to a progressive pastor & activist, Rodney Sadler. 70% to 22%!

anyway as someone grappling with very fresh grief over the loss of a parent, can I just say read more poetry, folks. For millennia, we've been feeling pain and grief, and translating it into art and poetry, and its all there, waiting for us.
There can be a kind of healing and comfort in that.
