Who could have guessed that the fools now pontificating from the White House about biology and gender don’t have a clue about the science?

So far I’m not using this platform much more than that other one. But I’ve got a novel to sell, so maybe that will change. https://books2read.com/adaschildren

If you liked Muskolini’s Nazi salute, you can fuck right off all the way to that fictitious secret Nazi base in Antarctica. But if you’d rather read about Nazis getting punched and humiliated, check out my satirical novel, Ship of Fools. larryhogue.substack.com/p/welcome-ab...
22.01.2025 15:05 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I did get one installer to admit that if I care more about emissions than cost, they could set that switchover point lower. But buying a new heat pump and a new furnace was out of our price range to begin with. Some manufacturers even bundle them together.
09.01.2025 15:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Every installer I talked to here in Michigan would install a get pump to work alongside a gas forced air furnace. Then they’d set the heat pump to turn off at about 30 degrees F and the gas furnace to take over. They said this had to do with gas and electricity prices in the state. 1/2

How about taking a break from them with my sci-fi satire on flat-earthers, anti-vaxxers, and also Nazis (several of whom get punched). The young woman Carol had been talking to didn’t even blink, itself a giveaway.
“Why do you think that?” the bot said. Its voice was smooth and mellifluous, almost too perfect.
My thoughts on whether sci-fi predicts the future, creates the future, or comments on the present. Maybe all three! With references to @greatdismal.bsky.social and Kim Stanley Robinson. larryhogue.substack.com/p/should-we-...

I thought we'd stopped the fascists and white supremacists for good back in the twenties--or at least driven them into a part of the country hardly anyone cares about."
Worried about the upcoming presidential election? Or climate change? Or the impacts of artificial intelligence? Then you might relate to Carol in Chapter 2 of Ada's Children, set in 2040s Minneapolis. You can read it right now on Substack. tinyurl.com/adaschildren
