πͺ¨A blustery but impromptu walk yesterday led to the discovery of something from the #Mesolithic tool kit in a new place. A backed blade made from fine grey chert, most likely sourced in North Wales, indicative of the Early Mesolithic in #Wirral c.10,000-8,000 BC.

That sounds brilliant. The first industrial revolution occurred in the Neolithic with the tool making workshops, and of course the flint mines. Then as now people moved/relocated near raw material sources and industry. Norfolk must be the Prehistory capital of Britain!

πͺ¨Light brown translucent flint hollow base arrowhead 3cmsx2cms. Tip broken and the right dorsal side has retouch where it has been modified into a blade/scraper. Dating to the Late Neolithic c.3,000-2,000 BC.
