A GameStop article from 2006 by Trey Walker "Distant Corners Entertainment Group, Screenblast, and WildTangent have announced the release of Evilution: The Legend of Helnar, a new 3D Web-based horror game inspired by the latest Creature Features movie, How to Make a Monster. The movie, which premiered on Cinemax yesterday, is about a group of programmers who develop the ultimate scary video game, only to be hunted down by the game's villain. Evilution: The Legend of Helnar was created by John Hegeman, founder of Distant Corners, and developed by WildTangent. A playable demo of the game is now available for free at Screenblast, and players can purchase the full version of the game for $14.99."

I must locate John Hegeman... A quest has begun.

It's super obscure. There isn't a single screenshot or even description of the gameplay. Just references to it existing in DVD commentary and articles.

I can only find one article from 20 years ago on Game Stop mentioning it exists, but it's gone. Everything else points to it being lost.

It was a web game so I have no idea if anyone would have it, but there doesn't seem to be a single screenshot of it.

Did anyone ever get to play Evilution: The Legend of Helnar?

It was made for the movie How To Make A Monster and was mentioned in the special features. Apparently it was lost and so you can't ever get it again.
