It's an overthinking of Manga/Anime genre tropes

That's what I was figuring had to be the culprit. I might need a couple frame delays in the checker to make sure it's actually clearing out at the right time.

Yeah it's one of those situations where "keep it simple stupid" isn't working with whatever is happening here.

The problem is also compounded with being able to swap two items so it can't just be a "check of previous slot is empty".

Maybe hold both items' info in a temp container and check that? Feels weird and unnecessary, but possibly a solution.

Seems to be related to the drag/drop system. For some reason it will occasionally not clear out the previous slot and just creates a copy into the new slot.

Having a real problem with item duplication in an inventory system in a single player game. Happens somewhat randomly, mostly when moving stuff too quickly. Not sure if I should put in some kind of secondary checks or what. Any advice?
